A Short Documentation of DIMENSION (V1)

On the 13th of September Random Line installed the new multi media large scale projection, DIMENSION (V1) using the 5 screen video wall in the Core Ballroom at the South Bank Centre, London. It was commissioned by Heart n Soul to form a part of the Dean Rodney Supershow at the Royal Festival Hall.

DIMENSION (V1) is a surreal exploration of food, the digestive system and learning disabled culture  co-directed by Sian Davies (Random Line Media member).

The large scale projection presents a striking, surreal audio visual landscape, 27 minutes in duration played using the AI software installed at the South Bank. This uses 5 (frame blended) projectors to create a large single image running the entire width of the Core Ballroom in the Royal Festival Hall (4096 x768 pixels). 

DIMENSION is an exciting project that will develop, promote and create new digital material exploring personal aspects of learning disabled culture and politics through powerful art. This version of DIMENSION was commissioned by Heart n Soul for the Dean Rodney Supershow which is a part of the Beautiful Octopus Club events. Random Line also received support from Lloyds TSB Foundation. 

As a part of the evening Random Line members Tanya Thornley & Sian Davies created and performed a live VJ set using video and images developed especially for the event.

DIMENSION (V1) features video and images created by Random Line members Sian Davies, Tanya Thornley, Mark ONiel, Clive Medcalf, James Perry, Warren Bailey, Jenna Jackson and Andrew Williams (Artistic Director).

The sound was created by Random Line using material and structures developed over the past few years together with three pieces created and performed by the Dean Rodney Singers. 

Over 2500 people attended the event at the Royal Festival Hall on the 13th of September.
